Brígida Silva

Brígida began her singing studies at Conservatório de Música do Porto, with Cecília Fontes, and was part of the Oporto Opera Studio, between January 2003 and December 2006, date of its extinction.
In Opera, she was Elisa (La Spinalba, by Francisco António de Almeida), Matilda (Ottone, by Handel), Hen and Inkeeper’s Wife (Cunning little vixen, by Janacek) and Mme Madou/Rosa (Operetta Les Dames de la Halle/As Madames do Bolhão, by Offenbach/Carrapatoso).
Concerning Oratorio, Brígida took part, as a soloist, in Vivaldi’s Gloria, Carlos Seixas’ Mass in G major, Saint-Saens’ Christmas Oratorio, Monteverdi’s Gloria, J.S. Bach’s Cantata BWV161 Komm, du susse Todesstunde and Magnificat, Mozart’s Missa brevis in G major and Mass in C major, Duarte Lobo’s Missa Pro Defunctis, Arvo Part’s Stabat Mater, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle.
She is a member of Cupertinos (dir. Luís Toscano), Coro Casa da Música (dir. Paul Hillier), Arte Mínima (dir. Pedro Sousa Silva), Quarteto Vocal Gaudium Vocis (dir. Rui Soares) and the ensemble Marca d’Água (formed by musicians graduated from the Early Music Department at ESMAE – Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo). She is also the lead singer at Vera Cruz, a group devoted to the research and performance of the several phases in the history of Bossa Nova and MPB.
Brígida is graduated in Psychology at Faculdade de Psicologia e Ciências da Educação (Universidade do Porto) and post-graduated in Clinical Psychology at Universidade do Minho, and is finishing her studies in Early Music at ESMAE.
