PERMANENT EXHIBITION - ROOM CRUZEIRO SEIXAS

3 December 1920, Amadora – 8 November 2020, Lisbon

Artur Manuel Rodrigues do Cruzeiro Seixas was a painter, a poet and considered one of the main representatives of Surrealism in Portugal with extensive work and tireless production. He drew from dream and imagination, without any aesthetic or even moral imposition. He contributed to the growth of the Museum's collection, as a cultural programmer and collector, through his donations, advice and acquisitions by the Foundation, which owns an art collection with more than 400 works by the artist and many others by other artists, and its documentary collection, from which we can highlight a collection of 42 notebooks entitled Diários Não Diários with records of his personal and professional life. In this exhibition we present some art works that prove the author's proximity to the institution.
