CAMILO CASTELO BRANCO COURSE
A WRITER OF DOOM
200 years on, Camilo is still addictive.
This year we celebrate the bicentenary of Camilo Castelo Branco, an author who has never gone out of fashion.
In this online course, coordinated by João R. Figueiredo, you will be able to immerse yourself in the complexity and distinctive character of Camilo, through the analysis of some of his most remarkable works, such as Amor de Perdição (Love of Doom) and A Queda dum Anjo (The Fall of an Angel).
Throughout the sessions, you will have the chance to explore the versatility of his writing — still capable of making us laugh and cry today — and to debate different interpretations put forward by renowned specialists.
A unique opportunity to revisit, understand, and reflect on a seminal writer of Portuguese literature.
